Kendujhar also called Keonjhar or Keonjhargarh is a town located in northern Odisha. The Kendujhar District emerged as one of the districts on 1st January 1948.

As per the 2011 census, the total population of Keonjhar District is 1,801,733. The District comprises a total of 9,06,487 males population and a total of 8,95,246 females population.

Kendujhar is also a town with a municipality in Kendujhar District in the Indian state of Odisha. It is the headquarters of the Kendujhar district.

Kendujhar District is an administrative district of Odisha. The town of Kendujhar (or Kendujhargarh) is the district headquarters. The district has three sub-divisions.

Kendujhar District is a trade center for the farm and forest products of the surrounding area near Kendujhar.

Hand-loom weaving is also an important source of earning for people. This town contains an old raja’s palace and now converted to college which is affiliated with Utkal University in Bhubaneswar.

The chief river of the Kendujhar district is the river Baitarani which is an important source of water for irrigation and agriculture. Most of the arable land in the area is not under cultivation.

Rice is the major crop, and timber, bamboo, and lac are obtained from the forests.
