Balangir or Bolangir is a town in western Odisha, formed in 1949. The name came from Balaramgarh. The city is a mixture of tradition, culture, and modern industries. The Patneswari Temple is located in city. Maa Pataneswari is the presiding deity of the Patna region (now Balangir). Pataneswari was the main deity of the first Chauhan ruler, Ramai Dev.
