History of Dhar District


The Dhar was founded by the ruler Parmar King Bhuj, who ruled the town during the 11th

the members of his dynasty conquered the town back again in the year 1732 and ruled Dhar
for a long time.

Dhar is ruled by several rulers, including Sultans of Delhi during the Mughal period and Dhar was the prime centre till the revolt of 1857.
