Boudh District is also known as Baudha District. The District is positioned on the bank of River Mahanadi. District was established on 2nd October 1992.The district is girdled by mountains and thick forests.

According to the census of 2011, the District has a total population of 441162 people with a sex ratio of 991 ladies per 1000 Males of which the manly population is 221625 and the woman nish population is 219537.

There is only one sub-division in Boudh district, Total 3 Tehsils, 3 Blocks, 1186 Villages, and, 69 Gram Panchayats are present in the District.

Rameswar Temple- Rameswar Temple is located in Town, temple looks like a star. The stone carvings used to construct this temple are of very high quality, which attracts tourists.

Chandi Temple- Chandi Temple is located 12 km away from the Town. Goddess Chandi is the presiding deity of this temple. Chanditala, Chandi Temple is one of the major tourist attractions.

Jogindra Villa Palace:- Jogindra Villa Palace is the palace of the ex-ruler of town, also known as Prajapati by locals. This palace is a very very attractive river Mahanadi flows near the palace which gives it an attractive look.

Nayakpada Cave:- The Nayanpada cave was the ashram of Sadhus a long time ago. Nayanpada Cave is located in a dense forest that is rich in different types of flora and fauna.

Dambarugada:- The Dambarugada is a beautiful mountain located around 20 kilometers away from town on way to Balangir route. The name of the city in which Dambarugada Mountain is present is Sangrampur. Mahanadi River runs down the mountain, which creates a beautiful view.
